  • From this study (1 month ago):

  • I have never had any real joint stiffness, so I noticed immediately that to joints have become very stiff on my less dominant hand on day 4 of my 7 day treatment plan with Macrobid 100 mg. I hope once treatment is complete this will resolve itself. I haven't found this side effect listed for Macrobid on any of the medical sites. RA runs in my family but I've never had any joint issues.

  • I finished my macrobid on friday. Today i got a cough that felt like a tickle in the back of my throat or had gotten unhealthy in my lungs..then also remembered i have been hoarse an loosing my voice for a couple of days now. The tickle feeling is constant. I keep drinking water or something cold to help ease it dont know what else to do. I am afraid its from the macrobid have never taken it before.

  • Two months ago, I had s/s of the flu and was treated with Tameflu. Two weeks later, the pain in my right flank area begins to appear and I am completely drained of energy and emotional contentment. Not to mention the headache (beyond any migraine I have ever had and spasm feelings in my mid-lower abdomen) I am then diagnosed with a UTI that was said to be almost off the chart (as it relates to MD office quick UTI test). I was put on Bactrim DS. Almost two weeks later the pain in my right flank is excrutiating and I have a headache beyond belief - I go back in to see my doc and am told I still have a UTI an he put me on Macrobid. Alittle over a week later, my husband (who is a nurse) called the MD's office and spoke to the nurse about my symptoms. I am immediatley called into the office to have a UA with C & S, CMP and scan to check for stones. Now, 2 days later I can barely get around without the severity of the pain and when I shower, the water makes my scalp hurt like it is being ripped off (a burning feeling). Any ideas? My husband is still very concerned and researching possibilities (if I would listen). Thank you for your time.
