  • Will my voice ever be restored having suffered from allergic rhinitis for these past years? (1 answer)
I am a singer with a very high pitch, but now I can barely speak loud talk less of singing. I cough often and sneeze a lot. My nose to the right upper side of my head seems blocked. All medications prescribed by the ENT After 4 X-rays have not helped at all. I am concerned about the loss of voice and possible hidden health hazard. I suffer severe allergic reaction I try to take any supplement. The recent one is when I took Fish oil supplement.

Different doctors gave me medications, didn't know they all were for depression

It's a miracle that I'm still alive -literally-. Currently taking Paxil and Synthroid. Can I start taking Garcinia Cambogia and Royal Jelly without drug interaction? I put on about 40 lb. in the 2 years of "Literally Hell that I went through.

  • Does amphetamine salts contribute to carotid artery disease
I've been taking Amphetamine Salts Combo for more than 10 years. Recently discovered I have Carotid Artery Disease incidentally. My cholesterol is 200 and it's highest was 217, therefore I do not think my eating habits are a main factor in its development. Besides hereditary genes, how likely is it that Amphetamine Salts Combo has contributed to development of this disease?
  • Can viibryd cause a itchy rash or stevens-johnson syndrome? (1 answer)
I have had mild anxiety and depression for several years, but in the last 4 months, they became severe. I started getting small rashes (or hives), which on different parts of my body and last about 30 -45 minutes (sometimes less). My family doctor thinks could be a result of anxiety. My family doctor took me off of Klonopin (which was not helping at all) and tried me on Xanax (which did not help me at all). Next, he put me on Valium, and it helps my anxiety some. Because my anxiety & depression were not improving much, my family doctor referred me to a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist took me off of Lexapro and onto Viibryd, which I've been taking for 10 days now. Unfortunately, the rash is showing up more frequently now, and it covers a larger part of my body. I started taking Benadryl and using hydrocortisone cream to help with the itching, but it comes back every day, mostly at night. I wondered if it was caused by my laundry detergent, so I changed detergents, but the rash still returns, but, like I said before, it only lasts for about 30 minutes and doesn't cover my whole body. Sometimes it shows up on my legs, other times on my back, other times on my stomach, and other times on my arms. Do you have any insight into this? I've heard of Stevens Johnson Syndrome; however, it presents itself differently than I've read. HELP PLEASE!
  • What is causing my symptoms. (1 answer)
I have pain in my back and down my leg, pain under my ribs, sharp groin pain occasionally and daily loose stools.

  • The zoloft/vyvanse concoction ruined my life.
I started taking these drugs about two months ago. I am diagnosed ADHD by a psychiatrist. I received these medications from a doctor whom I know and is married to a friend my wife. She, the doctor, gave them to me from her personal medications in a plastic baggy. I was given loose instructions for taking these on a piece of paper. I was never given the paperwork with warning signs. 10 days after starting these medications, I attacked my wife and am now separated. I am barred from seeing her and my daughter by means of a Victims Protective Order. I am a normally nonviolent person. Most who know me call me a peacemaker...a pacifist. I am still horrified by the events of that night. 15 seconds changed my life forever. I hope and pray my story helps others. Don't be naïve, as I was, when given medications. Ask questions.
  • Low potasium and mood
While being treated for cancer about 3 years ago and thus taking a number of blood tests, I was diagnosed with low potassium level and prescribed a regular dosage. I had noticed that when I forgot to take my potassium pills, I soon began to feel more depressed than usual and to feel anxious. Taking the ills soon alleviated these symptoms. (I have had depression for most of my life but long ago decided against taking any of the anti-depression Rx pills because I disliked their side effects, especially on my ability to think clearly.) Very recently I finally got around to looking on the Internet to see whether low potassium was associated with mood disorders _ and I found that it was. This site apparently didn't study anyone my age (I'm 78), so I decided to offer these comments. I have at least one grandchild who has been formally diagnosed with depression, and one who is ADHD. Before finding that the relationship of mood and low potassium was formally known, I had suggested to their parent in a low-key way that perhaps she and they should check with their doctors about their potassium levels. Now I'm quite sure that is something they and their doctors should consider. Meanwhile, I am glad to have found formal study of what had been to me only an anecdotal kind of belief that the two were linked. More importantly, in all my years of doctor visits, no doctor and no psychologist has ever mentioned this link to me. Therefore, I hope that somehow this link is brought more to the forefront of medical attention.
  • Belviq (lorcaserin) and adderall (amphetamine and dextroamphetamine)
I have been on Adderall for more than a year and I have recently started taking Belviq. For some reason a lot of doctors worry about a serious interaction between the two, in my experience the two get along just fine. Adderall helps me stay focused, while Belviq suppresses appetite.
During the second week of Belviq I did have very small stomach upsets, such as heartburn but it did go away about 2 days later. Other than that the medication works well and I think it is safe for anyone to try who is looking to lose weight. Belviq works on serotonin and while the exact mechanism is unknown it causes appetite suppression in most people. Belviq being one of the medications that are approved for long term use, it may be very helpful to individuals who require a longer period of time on the medication. Belviq reminds me of an antidepressant I was on called Effexor, the two produce the same sense of satisfaction overall, but mostly with food. However Effexor’s side effects (show up around week 7-12) and made it so that the medication is almost impossible to used. Belviq at this time is not giving me any side effects, I think it’s a wonderful drug, much better than the other options like Contrive and Qsyimia. However it’s not for everyone the drug may work perfectly on 80 % of the people who try it but on others it may not. I recommend that the alternatives be considered such as Contrive or Qsymia if Belviq is not found helpful. If Belviq causes you to feel unwell, sad, depressed, or feel like you have the flu—stop taking Belviq and call your doctor as these may be signs of a life threatening condition. Always take the medication as directed by your doctor, do not adjust your own dose without consulting with the doctor.
Belviq has been a wonderful addition to my life, it’s helped me take control of my body again I feel that the medication is very good, well tolerated, and just an amazingly well designed drug overall.
  • Adderall xr 30 mg and peripheral neuropathy
I have been taking adderall xr 30 mg for the past five years, with some breaks. I started showing symptoms of peripheral neuropathy the second year. This year (my 5th year on adderall) has been the worst and most difficult for my peripheral neuropathy. I also suffer from major depressive disorder and HSV, and I have heard that both of them may be related to peripheral neuropathy.

  • I was in three car accidents, one in which my head was turned and I got rear ended from behind that was when all the pain issues started along with the percocet prescription. I didn't intially use the script but later on in the years I started to develop alot more pain after being hit in two more whip lash car accidents in which my car was written off. I had a death of my parent only two months after the last accident and thats when I started to take more pain medication then prescribed. I have always had issues with my moods, I remember having a panic attack after a break-up with my long term boyfriend when I was 25 and going to a walk in clinic and them giving me effexor 75mg which worked great at that time, a little too great since I couldn't cry and eventually tried to overdose when the newest relationship I got myself involved in was to a married man and unhealthy. I kept off meds for sometime after that but found myself more stressed when I was 27 after my long term bf had an affair with my cousin and had two kids with her, I was left with a house in my name that was just bought 9 months prior and no job due to my pain issues. I started on wellbutrin 150xl then and virpo acid, which I didn't feel was working but looking back maybe it was. I have taken wellbturin more then 3 times since and everytime I Was very irritable and had to go off. I tried many other pills and I"m getting so fustrated. I really wish I had some answers, MY biggest complaint is that I"m always tired, which makes me depressed and in more pain. and then I find I'm abusing adderal or other stimulants to stay awake longer and then at night can't sleep. I was hospitalized and went through detox on my own in feb of this year. only to come out of the hospital on celexa 20mg and fight with the current bf over counserlling issues and break up and end up dating for 2 weeks a guy i met in hospital all in which time I relapsed. I am just a whits end. Please any advice would be great
