I have been taking Finasteride for 9 months for enlarged (massive) prostate. I have had great relief from the pressure, pain, and frequent trips to the bathroom. My prostate was so large that it became very uncomfortable to sit. Finasteride has helped to reduce the tissue mass to a once again comfortable level. My PSA was a 4.2, 3 months ago. I will be 66 years old November 2013. I live on the coast of South Carolina. The biggest side effect that I have noticed is a lack of sex drive and I do believe that the Finasteride has something to do with it. I take 10mg Cialis to help out.

Taking finesteride for 3 months - no noticeable improvements a this time plus significant negative impact of sex drive. Still bathroom visits through the night. I will stick with it for one or two more months given effectiveness is said to take several weeks or months. There must be a better way.

  • Need seroquel for panic/anxiety/depression/bipolar, but it seems to bring significant nasal congestion. Can't fight it w/Afrin for more than a couple days or risk rebound nasal congestion although Afrin does bring relief. Using Sudafed PE with mixed results and often need Afrin to breathe through my nose. Often have feeling of diffculty swallowing although a recent endoscopy did notfind anything physical. Panic/anxiety most often in the evening/night which are moretolerable when I stand-up and move around. Coping with anxiety and swallowing issues at night often result in little sleep on many nights per week.

Female, 70 yrs old. Taking Welbutrin and Lexapro. Cannot fall or stay asleep at night even after taking many different sleep aids. Severe nasal congestion (snorting) adds to the problem. Seems to start up after trying to sleep for a few hours and does not stop. Anyone else?
