  • During the past five years all of my relationships have become strained and most are currently non-existent. I have occasional outbursts where I become extremely angry and often scream and yell at those around me. I am also, and have been, for ten or more years very emotional, crying at the slightest thing from conversations to TV shows. The depression has also worsened over the past several years to the point that I no longer enjoy leaving my house for any reason and when I have no alternative but to go into public, I do so and get home as quickly as possible. In addition to the depressed mood and anger outbursts, I suffer from chronic fatigue that is so severe I can go an entire week without leaving my rocking chair, going so far as to not even want to shower. I am obsessive about things as well, so much so that if I begin watching a TV series, I can not stop until ALL episodes are watched, even if it is hundreds of episodes. I used to work out in a gym, have friends, a career and now I have NOTHING left. Even my relationships with my adult children (ages 19 and 20) are strained and both of my children have been asked by me to leave my home and move out which is totally out of character for me as I was a single mom who raised them myself, always having a very close relationship with them both. Now, I barely EVER speak to either of them on the phone and even less in person. The stress in my life is also very real. I was divorced after ten years due to my first husband cheating on me multiple times after which he left and started a family with the woman he cheated with, never coming back to even see his children. After that I dated a drunk for three years and then separated only to end up marrying a man who I thought was in recovery from heroin addiction but actually he began using again. Prior to the deterioration of my second marriage, my second husband had 9 strokes in a 3 month span after which he was diagnosed with CADASILL, leaving me to raise my two children and be a step-mother to his two children whose mother HATED me. In addition, I come from a family with an older brother who is an alcoholic and a second brother who is a cocaine/heroin addict who is often times verbally abusive to all of those around him. My mother and father are elderly; however, my mother has always been a enabler, choosing to ignore their bad behavior, often times "siding" with them. However, due to their old age and the fact that I am the only child who does not suffer from a substance abuse problem, I must always be their caretaker. Finally, I have an older sister who was diagnosed with MR as a child and I also take care of her both as a job and as a sister. This puts considerable stress on me and often times all of this drama leaves me feeling stressed out and angry and exhausted. Recently, I went off of the MS Contin and only take the water pills on an every other day basis.
