  • Bone density test showing osteoporosis - put on actonel 150mg once per month. After 1 pill 2 days later eye almost completely closed. Sore to pressure on eye but no discharge, swelling. not really red just unable to open eye. Dr, advised cold compress and antihistamines (no allergies). Neither Dr. nor pharmacist think it is related to reaction to actonel. I believe it is.

  • My brother had MRSA and the nursing home was giving him Prednisone for Asthma. I know that Prednisone lowers the bodies amune system and what have allowed the MRSA to flourish. Is this true because when i told the staff of what i have discovered about this one medication they had been giving him for some time already they immediately took him off of it. He died due to the MRSA that was was in his blood and every where... Please advise..

  • Onset of symptoms of bilateral peripheral neuropathy coincides with onset of other side effects of sulfasalazine. Sulfasalazine dosage level for 4 months was 2 grams daily. Initial neurologic diagnosis was peroneal nerve palsy.
Undifferentiated spondyloarthropathy is a rare autoimmune disease. Alternate explanations of peripheral neuropathy include but are not limited to autoimmune damage to peroneal nerve.
Current prednisone dosage level of 7.5 mg daily and current dosage of Sulfasalazine are inadequate to control severe arthritic pain and increase range of motion in 32 joints, including but not limited to spinal facet joints, shoulders, hips, SI joints and sternoclavicular joints. Proposed solution is to increase dosage to 3 grams of Sulfasalazine but not if Sulfasalazine is causing peripheral neuropathy.

I am a 56 yo female newly dx with ra and more have been trying to stay well enough to be on methotrexate for at least a month to see if it works but this my second bout of bronchitis and need antibiotics so have to stop ra tx til its gone. The one big warning for ra drugs is enlarge lymph nodes because they all say lymphoma can be caused by their use. My dr had me see my gyn ay the start of tx and then regular mamograms. Thats the only way to detect a problem is occurring. Please get it checked out soon.
