Hi, Could anyone let me know if there is any chance of recovering my sense of taste. I was taking Prozac (fluoxetine) for over a year and lost my sense of taste. I stopped taking the antidepressants just over a year ago and still not recovered my taste. Could anyone let me know if they have been in this same position?
Hi everyone, Due to kidney stones, I started taking allopurinol (100 mg a day) 4 months ago. 3 months later, severe taste disturbance started. I constantly feel a very salty taste, which is reinforced when I drink or eat. The taste is so strong that I can't feel the taste of food or beverage anymore. I talked to my doctor and he said this can happen but he didn't seem to bother too much. He only said I should take the medication after meals, to see if this side effect diminishes or go away. But I was already taking it after breakfast. As I stopped taking the medication 3 days ago, but the change in taste remains, I am beginning to worry about this. Can this change in taste be permanent? Anyone in the group with the same problem? thanks!! Alex
I have been taking Celebrex for many years >10. I have nearly totally lost my sense of smell, except when something happens and I don't take my medication for a few days. I am also taking Sulfasalazine.
