Hi, I've had fibromyalgia for years and always felt quite lucky not to have it as badly as some people I've known. But a couple of months ago, I had drug-induced rhabdomylolysis caused by a side-effect to a medication I was on for another condition and I still feel terrible from it. Some days I am only awake for a couple of hours and my bodywide pain levels are through the roof. I can't find anyone else this has happened to and I want to know if I will get any better or if it the rhabdo has perhaps worsened my fibro and this is as good as it going to get now. :(
Husband had large forearm contracture that was very painful. In 2014 Nurses & PT had recommended Botox as it is used for post stroke patients. He had a stroke 7 yrs earlier in 2006. We made appt with Physical Med. and husband was approved for Botox injections. Within a couple of days following the 1st & only injection, Doug had clear signs of Myasthenia Gravis (droppy eye, slurred speach, trouble swallowing, very weak arms & legs, etc). We contacted Phys Med and reported the side effects. However, could not get any drs to understand the symptems nor were they familiar with MG, so it took over 2 yrs and a Myasthenia Crisis to get diagnosed correctly. Husband, Doug, has been hospitalized for the past 4 weeks as he could not swallow at all. His mouth and throat were extremely weak, and thusly his speach was very difficult to understand and it exhausted him to attempt to communicate so he was writing messages. The main treatment which has helped and brought about improvement is the Plasmapherisis exchanges and steroids. Doug had 5 Plasmapherisis last week, and will have 1 again at the end of this week, and 3 more next week, and then 1 more on the 3rd week.

I have been on Cymbalta for about 5 years and it helps greatly with my fibromyalgia pain, but does NOTHING for my depression and anxiety. Would Pristiq be a medication that can be added to my Cymbalta and if so, what are the chances that this medication would help my depression and anxiety?
