  • From this study (3 years ago):

  • I am a married 29 year old registered nurse with 3 child and work full time. I have had mild-moderate hypertension since the birth of my youngest child in March 2010. My BP was hardley ever under 130/85. After noticing a drasctic rise over several weeks, I saw my primary care provider and had an in office BP of 154/118. I was put on Dyazide 37.5/25mg daily and scheduled for a renal artery doppler ultrasound, as he is suspecting renal aretery stenosis. He ordered a metabolic profile which was normal other than my potassium was 3.3 (norm 3.5-5.0). This is only my 3rd day of Dyazide and although my BP is lower (100-125/60-90), I am dizzy, tachycardic (105-140 bpm), feet and hands are ice cold and purple at times, diarrhea, fatigue, and drowsiness. My MD does not want me to stop taking the Ritalin or the Premarin, because of other health problems.
