I'm trying to find out what type of interactions there could be between these two meds. I can't seem to find anything but the nurse told me that I shouldn't take my bentyl while on the antibiotic. Does anyone have any info about this? Thanks
My husband has non alcoholic cirrhosis and is taking Xifaxan for his memory etc. He can't take Lactulose yet because he recently had C Diff and Pneumonia. He is having bowel movements every time he sits on the toilet... loose with a lot of gas. I was giving him Probiotics and wonder which of these meds might be causing all this activity. I stopped the Probiotics today. Thanks.
My husband was treated with xifaxan for diarrhea for many months. He died in December of septic shock. He had breathing difficulties, a bleeding stomach ulcer, and was treated with shots for a low white blood cell count. Does anybody have any experience with this?

Diagnosis: SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth) I took nine doses of Xifaxan (four days/two per day 550 mg each tablet) and stopped because of increased abdominal bloating and diarrhea. One to three days later I took a dose of Miralax for constipation. I may have taken a second dose, I do not remember. Woke up this morning experiencing numbness and tingling in hands and feet. I am still feeling these symptoms. This could be peripheral neuropathy.
