  • Has anyone seen an immuniologist for granuloma annulare, if so what was the outcome?
I have had granuloma annulare for over a year now. However it has spread like wildfire the last 2 months. It starte out on hands and arms, but is now on 40% of my trunk, back, sholders, legs. I have tried all meds and topucals. I am wondering if anyone has been to an Immuniologist for tretment since it is considered an autoimmune disease? If so, what was outcome?
  • How do you get a doctor to listen? (2 answers)
Increasing numbness to trunk from arms and hands. Involuntary muscle spasm in face ,arms and legs. Vision loss in peripheral vision. I don't feel like a human until I can rest or sleep for 2 to 3 days. Have lost all interest in outings and family functions and I really want to be involved.I have episodes of hot and cold flashes. There is increasing ringing of the ears with bad headaches. Joints hurt daily and walking is more difficult. I stumble on flat flooring for no reason. I have had cardiac workup and eye check and see a pain management Dr.I don't know if this will ever be livable.

  • Is my sporadic excessive sweating caused phentermine
I have been on Phentermine 37.5 for 8 months (with one mandatory 1 month off). I have also been going through menopause for the past 8 years and taking estrogen and progesterone for the past 3 years. I'm trying to determine which may be causing excessive sweating, primarily on my head. It doesn't happen all the time and can happen at anytime. It mostly happens when I go shopping and try on clothes. By the time I've tried on the 3rd item I feel sweat dripping down both sides of my face. After trying on a few more items my hair on the sides and back of my head are actually dripping with sweat, looking like I've taken a shower. It can also happen when I'm just standing talking with someone although not all the time. Then when I'm sitting in bed reading, within 5 minutes I feel sweat dripping down my arms. When these sweating episodes happen the room I'm in is not even hot nor do I necessarily feel hot. I haven't had hot flashes since being put on hormone replacement medication, however I am typically hot continuously. Normally I need to have the house at 73 degrees and 70 after taking a shower and drying my hair. Needless to say this sweating is very embarrassing. I'm trying to determine whether it's the Phentermine or if I need to adjust my hormone replacement medication. I'm not sure if this sweating started after I began taking the Phentermine as I really hadn't gone clothes shopping for a few years. I seem to remember sweating some before but never to this extent. Thank you for your input.

  • Belviq (lorcaserin) and adderall (amphetamine and dextroamphetamine)
I have been on Adderall for more than a year and I have recently started taking Belviq. For some reason a lot of doctors worry about a serious interaction between the two, in my experience the two get along just fine. Adderall helps me stay focused, while Belviq suppresses appetite.
During the second week of Belviq I did have very small stomach upsets, such as heartburn but it did go away about 2 days later. Other than that the medication works well and I think it is safe for anyone to try who is looking to lose weight. Belviq works on serotonin and while the exact mechanism is unknown it causes appetite suppression in most people. Belviq being one of the medications that are approved for long term use, it may be very helpful to individuals who require a longer period of time on the medication. Belviq reminds me of an antidepressant I was on called Effexor, the two produce the same sense of satisfaction overall, but mostly with food. However Effexor’s side effects (show up around week 7-12) and made it so that the medication is almost impossible to used. Belviq at this time is not giving me any side effects, I think it’s a wonderful drug, much better than the other options like Contrive and Qsyimia. However it’s not for everyone the drug may work perfectly on 80 % of the people who try it but on others it may not. I recommend that the alternatives be considered such as Contrive or Qsymia if Belviq is not found helpful. If Belviq causes you to feel unwell, sad, depressed, or feel like you have the flu—stop taking Belviq and call your doctor as these may be signs of a life threatening condition. Always take the medication as directed by your doctor, do not adjust your own dose without consulting with the doctor.
Belviq has been a wonderful addition to my life, it’s helped me take control of my body again I feel that the medication is very good, well tolerated, and just an amazingly well designed drug overall.

  • Citalopram seizures in my 13 year old daughter
My daughter just turned 13. Her Father died last year and she was having trouble dealing with it so her doctor put her on 20 mil of citalopram once a day. She started feeling better in about a week. About 30 days later she had a severe seizure and quit breathing. I did CPR and got her breathing again and the paramedics took her to the hospital. After an MRI and EEG they sent her home and said keep an eye on her. She had about 6 seizures all together. I wouldn't let her out of my sight. Finally on her last trip to the hospital after having a seizure I again asked could it be the meds and the ER doc said yes so we took her off of it and no more seizures. It's been 4 weeks now and I'm hopeful that we found the problem. My daughter had never had any health problems... Be very careful what kind of meds you put your children on. Thank God she was home with me that night.
  • Taking phentermine likely caused our baby to have anencephaly.
I used Phentermine for a few months prior to my wedding in December 2013. I ceased taking the phentermine in December 2013 after my honeymoon. In January 2014 my husband and I conceived a baby boy. This was our first child together and we and our families and friends were elated with excitement. At 9 months I had my first ultrasound where you can clearly see our baby's skull was not closed. The on/gyne who took the ultrasound did not diagnose the anencephaly or alert us, instead he referred us to the maternal fetal department at our local hospital. A month later I had another ultrasound performed at the maternal fetal department and was immediately informed and shown that our baby has anencephaly and an abortion was required. The only medication I took prior to pregnancy was phentermine prescribed by my primary care provider. I believe the phentermine is chemically composed similar to Adderral and should have the same warnings. I also believe phentermine causes a mother to be anemic and unable to provide a baby en utero the necessary nutrition for healthy growth. Had I been informed of the risk, I would never have taken this medication. Our baby died at 14 weeks after we were forced through the anguish and torturous of a late term abortion which is against our beliefs. I am now pregnant again, this time with a healthy baby.
