I have had bypass surgery twice. Triple in 1984, quadruple in 2009. After the 2009 bypass, I developed atrial fibrillation, low pulse rate and diabetes. On Jan 4th, I saw my doctor for flu symptoms. He prescribed a Z-Pack which I took from Jan 5 - 9, 2013. On Feb 19, 2013 I collapsed in a grocery store from a condition called by my cardiologist as Sudden Cardiac Death. When the event happened, I went out cold with no warning and no recollection. I happened to be 10 ft. from a veteran CPR instructor and the store I was in was less than 2 miles from the hospital. EMS used their defibrillator 5 times to get my heart pumping again. Last week I saw on the news that the FDA had issued a warning to physicians regarding prescribing Z-Packs to patients with Atrial Fibrillation, Slow Pulse and diabetes. I have all three. I looked it up on the internet and was astonished to see the many warnings from the NEJM, AMA, FDA and others. This was the first Z-Pack I had ever taken and the Sudden Cardiac Death took place within 5 weeks of taking it. I want to know if the two are related.
have experienced several episodes at night of extreme breathlessness lasting for several hours; continual lightheadness, heart rate in upper 40s/minute
he also takes a multi vit, vit c, nasonex, advair and hes on a nebulizer with budesonide and he takes saw palmetto, and antiva. his neighbor has been doing his meds for the last five yrs but im thinking that hes taking them at the wrong times and that theyre is possibly quite a few interactions. hes 87 and he has copd, emphysema, congestive heart failure, hypothyroidism, hypertension , enlarged prostate, asthma.
does this combination cause confusion
