  • I am on 2 x daily rifampin and 4 x daily cephalixin 500mg and and awake exhausted after 8-9 hours sleep and the fatigue is unbelievable all day every day, is this "normal" or should i investigate ore (1 answer)
Had total knee replacement 11/12, bad from the start, knee swollen/hot/painful/unstable for most of 2 years before a mechanically successful Revision that found a loose patella and both ends of the prostheses loose. In spite of 10-12 aspirations and almost as many samples sent to labs for testing the result was always "no growth after a week". Following the revision, 10 days after, surgeons office called and says yes you have a staph E infection. Immediate therapy with 6 weeks of 3 X day IV PLUS 2 x per day oral Rifampin.
IV over but now on the 2 X day Rifampin PLUS 4 X day 500mg cephalexin and the fatigue is unbelievable. Wake up exhausted after 8 hours sleep, daily hour plus mid afternoon naps.

  • Are you mental on methadone
My doctor changed my pain medication back in May of 2014 . I was pleased with how well it handle my back pain and was pleased with how inexpensive it was. My husband had been using the same drug with great results. It wasn't until about a month later I started to notice just feelings of sadness. I didn't think too much of it but then I would get such strong feelings of despair really bad that I would just cry. I also started getting a lot of panic attacks I had so much anxiety at times it prevented me from doing things. At one point I really thought I was having some sort of break down, but the feelings would have highs and lows and sometimes I would have a day with out them. Eventually after being on them for 7 months I went to my doctor and asked if it were possible I was experiencing these feelings from the Methadone. He wasn't sure but with it all happening right after I started taking them he decided to put me on something else. It's been about three weeks and even though the feelings are still there they are not as strong and seem to be passing. I hope as time goes I will feel like myself again and hope never to have to experience something like that again.
  • Lisinopril caused peripheral neuropathy
I began taking 10mg of Lisinopril recently and within a month began having moderate peripheral neuropathy. The neuropathy was shooting or stabbing sharp pains in hands and feet, burning calves, pins and needles in and around the eyes and ears, and burning eyes. This was so pronounced that I requested the doctor to switch me to Losartan immediately. The peripheral neuropathy quickly subsided and is gone ! My doctor had never heard of the Lisinopril causing this but now she knows. So people - you need to be your own advocate when you know something isn't right.

  • GI symptoms began as constipation when first starting Chantix, then flatulence became progressively more prononuced and diarrhea began approximately 3 weeks after starting Chantix which progressed to totally liquid, frequent stools with abdominal cramping. Medical testing for pathogens associated with diarrhea was negative one week ago. I stopped Chantix appromixately 2 weeks ago, and symptoms are less urgent and distressing, but flatulance continues and stools remain liquid.
