    Hi Sonya.

This combinations of meds is much too sedating and could cause respiratory depression. Also, why would your Mom be on 2 benzodiazepines i.e. clonazepan and ativan.Ativan can sometimes be used to help with sleeping but it seems your Mom is taking Trazodone for that. The Hydrocodone is a pain killer but can sedate also.Further, it is addictive but if she needs ? Why not Advil.Like you, I would also be concerned with falling at her age
i.e. broken hip etc.which could lead to her being bed ridden if she manges to get through the operation. You need another Dr.This combination is seldom prescribed for someone her age.Warmest, JT

    Sonya,
I used to take klonopin, ativan, and hydrocodone. The ativan was only for emergencies (i.e. extreme panic attacks). I found that mixing klonopin and hydrocodone drastically changed my personality to the point where they suspected I had a severe mood or personality disorder. When I stopped this combo my personality returned to normal. I have seen the same thing happen in 100% of cases where these drugs are mixed (n=3). The symptoms it produces can resemble borderline personality disorder &/or bipolar. Basically mood swings that are disproportionate to the situation. Common sense seems to disappear. People also seemed to think I was being disingenuous but in reality I was too confused to remain consistent. I have never taken trazadone but my sister took it mixed with klonopin and it would knock her out for a long time, sometimes an entire day. Hope that helps a little. All the best to you and your mother.

Leena, I have taken Klonopin (Clonazepam) in combination with hydrocodone for a number of years with absolutely no side effects. Both are extremely beneficial to my conditions. I'm truly sorry you suffered nasty effects from this combo. Each person's metabolism and chemical make-up are very different. What may work for some, doesn't work for others. After hearing someone's success story using particular drugs, others want to copy their regimen in hopes of the same relief. It may have worked for them, but you may suffer dire consequences.
