Reply From this study (4 months ago): I tested positive for tricyclic antidepressants but I have never used them. Would anything I have taken cause a false positive? Reply From this study (5 months ago): Was feeling ill with headache and stomach upset for several days, then drank about 4 mixed drinks and started vomiting violently and shaking and was losing consciousness, still dizzy and achy and nausea and confusion two days later. Reply From this study (5 months ago): Marcus on Dec, 26, 2012: Max,
mixing Welbutrin (antidepressant) and heavy drinking has very complicated and dangerous outcomes. I took Welbutrin and drank for 1 1/2 years after my divorce and when I quit drinking cold turkey for 4 days while still on Welbutrin, I had a huge mental meltdown. November, 2011, I thought for a few days that the apocalypse was coming, my house was filled with demons, many people on tv and in my neighborhood were actually condemned to hell and that people were after my life. I flipped and ended up getting a battery charge on my big brother. If you were already in an unstable or threatening environment, this could be the straw that broke the camels back!
I later read, after getting out of jail for the battery, on the Welbutrin website, that taking this drug while quitting drinking can cause halucinations, confusion and delerium. I wish I had known this before quitting drinking! Withdrawels are already hard enough without an antidepressant, but you throw that in the mix with it and you should seriously talk to a friend on the outside who you could confide with you to get your head back to reality and for a safety net. Reply Kelly on Oct, 29, 2012: I have epilepsy, and I take Keppra. The problem is when I drink I get very angry quickly. I create fights and I get very jealous of my boyfriend, who really doesn't do anything wrong. I am not an alcoholic or an addict, but Im concerned that the mixing of alcohol and anti-convulsant is causing this increased anger problem. Reply Max on Apr, 5, 2012: Can anyone offer additional insights into mixing Klonopin, Lexapro and heavy drinking? I've seen the results and it's not pretty. Zombie-like, unsteadiness and aggression.
