- I cannot get a direct answer from any of my drs.,is my sciatic pain caused by my interstitail cystitus? (1 answer)
I have had interstitail cystitus for almost four years now.I have been on every kind of drug, other than pain pills.I will not take them,I don't believe in them they only mask the problem and cause addiction.of course, just my belief.I have had d.s.m.o. repetitively for first year and a half twice a week.I have tried physical therapy .I have had five hydrodistention.I just recently had my first hydrodistention with botox injections.nothing has kept me out of pain .even when I am doing good I can only seem to reach a six in my pain level.my frequency average is and has been 30-40Times a day.I am,or,was a chef kitchen manager.could not perform and lost two jobs because of this disease.my flanks,my lower back ,my legs,my arms all ways in pain.pelvic pain is constant.I'd rather not go into further details way too personal.but this has taken my life.I am 35.I have led a fairly healthy life.I have no life now.I am seeking disability .Every Dr. I go to has a different option about the sciatic part of my problem some Dr.s are very sure and as a matter of fact about how it is in conjunction with I.c..others look at me like I'm nuts?why do I limp?why can't I get in and out of a car,or bend down and touch my toes, pick heavy stuff up.just to laugh at times hurts.this is my life ,I gotta wonder ,is there any one else out there going through the same symptoms and no relief?
- Does bcaa cause migraines?
I took 3 capsules of BCAA and within the next hour I developed a very aggressive migraine. Believing the migraine may have been separate to the tablets, I took another 3 capsules the next day and again within 1 hour I developed a very aggressive migraines. Has anyone had a similar adverse reaction?
- I have cfs and have been treated for depression for years.will adderall replace the antidepressants ect that i'm taking now? (3 answers)
I have a long history of depression and anxiety disorder.I was recently diagnosed with CFS.Now that I know exactly what this disease entails, everything makes perfect sense. My physical symptoms, with the exception of increased debilitating pain over the last 2 years, I had come to accept as normal! Glandular pain, thunderstorm headaches, sweating and chills and pure exhaustion. I have an appointment with my psyciatrist in a week to discuss Adderall. My family doctor wants to try it because i've been on EVERY antidepressant, add ons ect. out there but nothing helps my sheer exhaustion. She's not very familiar with lamotragene and wants his opinion first.Nothing works for me and I truely believe that because of my history with depression,CFS has been overlooked.
My life has been a living hell. I have an 11yr old daughter, and i feel like i've been robbed of her childhood. Nothing else matters.I am divorced and because of my illness and lack of ability to look after her,I reserve every ounce of energy i have to spend with her. And even then....Mommy's always tired. This is not a life.I've isolated myself so much that all other relationships in my life i've let slip away.
I've decreased the wellbutrin and lamotrogene before I see my Doctor so hopefully there will be NO reason for him to start me on Adderall.I'm putting so much hope into this treatment. I've used stimulants in the past(ephedrine, bennies)and that's the only time I've ever felt human in the past 10 years.
I want this to work soooooo bad but i'm a little scared that I'm setting myself up for a fall.

I've began having sparatic involuntary eye movements a few days after I started taking amitriptyline. It's not faint either, it's like my eye is having a seizure, emabrassing. Just wanted to share.

- Psychosis, weight loss and topamax (1 response)
I had a brain hemorrhage in my occipital lobe. It left me with with a partial seizure disorder. The seizures would interrupt my ability to see. I was trying different anti-seizure medication and they all made me more tired and more depressed. My neurologist decided to try topamax. On topamax I began to feel more energetic and started losing weight. For the first time in years I woke up in the morning feeling zippy. I started feeling euphoric sometimes. I started to feel like I was glowing with life. I became so energetic I was like someone in a manic state. My temper got shorter and I began to hallucinate. I started to see angels and/or feel their presence. I live in a big city and there are a lot of people who are pretty mean here and I decided I wasn't going to let any of them push me around. I wasn't diplomatic anymore with anyone. Basically everyone thought I had gone crazy and I guess I had.
My psychiatrist saw me and told my neurologist to "Get Her Off The Topamax!" After I stopped taking it and was more my normal tired self, my psychiatrist told me that I had been psychotic and that I had scared him. Unfortunately, after I stopped taking topamax I gained back the 30 pounds I had lost and none of my new clothes fit me. My doctors told me that they had never seen Topamax affect anyone the way it had affected me. They said it usually makes people more sedated. Hopefully, sharing my experience with Topamax will be helpful to someone.
- Inflammation in leg and around pelvis
I gave birth two years ago, in my birthing plan it only stated that i wished for gas & air ONlY.
I was very confused what with all the gas & air.. So all i heared was midewife saying that she will order pethidine. Next minute i know midwife injects me with pethidine in right buttuck.
Later that day i feel extreamly bruised where i was injected but thought nothing of it. The bruised feeling continued for two weeks getting stronger and more painful when i just couldnt move. I literally couldnt move my leg, the pain had got so bad that i was screaming and had to call 999.
Doctors had to check if i was paralyed as i couldnt move my leg. Turns out i was not paralysed.
I was sent home in crazy pain, screaming. It got so bad that i had to urinate myself in bed as i couldnt move to get out. Again i called 999. Hospital kept me in for a week, they though it was sciatica nerve. MRI scan showed inflammation in leg ad around the pelvis area. In hopital i learnt to walk all over again using zimmer frame. (This all happened in july and i finally was off crutches that october.) a couple of weeks after being out of hospital my left collar bone was swallon badly and i couldnt lift my left arm all the way up and my two fingers in left had were slightly numb. Again i had a MRI scan which showed again inflammation.
A doctor who had been treating me had told me that he has never seen this before and his does not know what has causes all this.. I suggest the pethidine.. And he quickly snaps and says that he does not know the cause but is certain its not the pethidine. I truely believe it was the pethidine. I made a full recovery, but the past year i have been experiencing discomfort in my buttuck and sometimes hip and shooting pains down my leg and in my foot (all the same side where i was injected)
I had an MRI scan on my spine lumber & sacral and pelvis but strangly results say its normal.
What is this pain? And been physio but this did not help it made pain worse. It is all a mystery, i want answers, i know it has something to do with the pethidine.
- Epilepsy and depression drug side effects (2 responses)
42yo male having infrequent seizures since he was 19yo.
Was recently placed on Neurontin and Topamax after a single seizure. This combination of meds appeared to increase the frequency of seizures ( from 1 every few years unmedicated, to 1 every month ). Dosage being increased after each seizure. No seizure control achieved.
Changed Neurologist, had a 48hr EEG and was changed to Sodium Valproate.
Have not had a Tonic Clinic seizure since. Suffer myoclnic seizures every day, Lamotrogine and Lacitimal? and Topamx introduced to try a stop the myoclonus... Lamotrogine made them far worse and dizzyness caused by Lacitimal was un-bearable even at very small dose.
Over the last 3yrs I have noticed and my family even commented on my changed personality - from a care free to someone that is easily aggitated and angry...even when I know things like young children being noisey etc shouldn't make me snap, they do... I know its wrong, but can't help myself... and then hate myself for being so "short" or intolerant of petty things.
My weight increased by 30kg with 4 months... more than 40% increase in weight.
My hair just falling out, by the 1000's every day... my bike helmet is full of hair and when washing, hair is visible in the shampoo bubbles.
My gums bleed very easily and they no longer grow up around the base of my teeth - they seem to be retracting away ( believe this message s called attrophy ).
Have researched quite extensively to see the likely hood of all these medical problem I have now being associated with the medications I take for my primary condition ( epilepsy ).. And given the frequency of seizure off medication is every few years, seeking advice from or to hear from anyone with similar conditions about how they addressed them and if they remained on the medications.
From this web site, all my symptoms seems to affect a very low % of people taking the meds... am I trying to link medical concerns to the medications unjustly... the likely hood of suffering all these side effects is extremely remote when most affect only 2 or 3 in100 people.
( likely hood of suffering all 5 conditions = approx 1 in 40,000,000
- more likey to be hypercondriact aren't I?
