Hi, My name is Darcy and my dentist put me on Amoxicillin on Friday. I have taken it in the past with no problem, but 3 years ago I had a Sleeve Gastrectomy and I have found many things have changed in my system. So Friday I started taking the Amaxocillin and on Saturday afternoon I noticed swelling and pain in my hands. I took Aleve and it didn't help at all! Usually it helps some. On Sunday I asked my sister (a nurse) if there was any allergy to amoxicillin that she knows of and she said it sounded like dehydration to her. I started ramping up my liquids and by Monday afternoon I was feeling better.....when I went to take my lunchtime amoxicillin I realized I had forgotten my morning dose! I went ahead and took my dose and the next one and all my joints started hurting. (I do have fibromyalgia). I discussed it with my husband and stopped taking the amoxicillin and this morning I called my dentist and he took me off the amoxicillin. My swelling has improved since last night but I am still having some pain and swelling and Aleve is not helping. I have a call in to my primary but have not heard back yet. His is my case.....glad to meet everyone. I am looking forward to reading about others cases. Darcy
