  • Used for the first time 1 clotrimazole pessary, clotrimazole 1% external cream, metronidazole tablets. Within an hour cystitis pains had set in, blood present in urine, frequent urination. Symptoms subsided after 7 hours. Continued use of tablets and did not remove pessary and was fine. Used cream again and within an hour the cystitis symptoms were back. Again, 7 hours until symptoms subsided. Discontinued use of cream. Now, 24 hours later cystitis symptoms are back and equally severe as before. I assumed the cream was to blame but apparently not. I'm usually very susceptible to cystitis with no explanation from my doctor but gave been pain free for 2 months until use of these drugs.
