13yo daughter. March of 3rd grade teacher called that she had serious "Attention issues". Focalin did wonders. These seizures showed up in nov. when she got off focaline. She took it on and off school year only end of 3rd, 4th and 5th. 6th it was every school day. It was first semester 7th until insurance recategorized it. Then we saw these start. Tics are listed as a possible side effect but not this. Finally got EEG for fun. We already knew these were absence ones. I read on a forum that Focalin can suppress seizures so maybe absence seizures where prominate in 2-5th grade at school and just not noticed as much etc. Then when off focalin, blamo. Not recalling that one Ensurance made it cost prohibitive to use that medication I remember being at the drive-through pharmacy saying well I guess there's a bigger reason for this that I don't know about. Yet. Like in my cancer journey, why are doctors so stupid? Aka be your own advocate. Aka we have to educate the docs.
