Comments from related studies:

  • From this study (3 weeks ago):

  • Do not take Actifed (pills) if you're under alprazolam treatment, especially if you're having a high dosis of the benzodiazepine (or if you're being treated for a long time). The psychiatric effects can be devastating and your anxiety disorder and/or depression can get much worse.
Unentencionally (due to a very stressfull event) I increased my alprazolam intake and since I had a flue I also started the Actifed pills 3 times a day. After two weeks in a regular basis of 7,5 mg of alprazolam + 3 actifed pills a day I got a major breakdown with completly psychotic behaviour, a huge rage attack, agressivity towards loved ones and a completly "out of me" speech and actions. Also I had suicidal behaviour tendencies, which I didn't have for almost 10 years (since I have diagnosed depression)!
After being assisted at the hospital the attending doctor recommended the immediate suspension of alprazolam intake to avoid further similar episodes.

Please do be very carefull with drug interactions since they can change your life in a glimpse. Be safe & take care!

  • I was admitted to hospital for four days due to the adverse effects from these medications. On the last day, I begged them to let me out even though I was not better, so I could be with my family. I have to walk with a cane to help stabilize me, because I have fallen several times. I still have hallucinations where I see stuff on the walls and floors that are not there. I also suffered double and trouble focusing my eyes, this has for the most part disappeared.
