Hi. I've battled opiate addiction for many years (I'm 67), from codeine to methadone to suboxone. Now I am thinking about trying Vivitrol, but knowing me, I don't believe I could make it for 7-10 days clean before getting the injection. I sometimes take loperamide (Immodium) if I can't get anything else, and it does seem to relieve all withdrawal symptoms, but if I do that, say, 4 of the10 days while waiting to get the Vivitrol shot, would that be enough to send me into precipitated withdrawals after I get the shot? I don't take more than 20 mg. at a time of the lope. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Is anyone else here a longtime opiate addict who is now abusing large doses of Loperamide / immodium to avoid withdrawals? Ive completely lost control- am taking so much im having noticeable side effects- am seeking anyone else in similar situation.
