Hi my name is Darin, I have been diagnosed with COPD and fibrosis for about a year now. I just turned 55 and I am on oxygen about 20 hrs/day. I take symbicort and duo neb. It is very hard for me to use a nose cannula because I am so stuffed up, completely shut to the point I just want to jump out a window. I have taken every medication there is for the nose ... antihistamine's, sprays, rinses, pills, even allergy shots ..... with NO results!! I even had nasal surgery .... I now use neil med saline and straight budesonide nasal rinse and get some relief. I have found on line, its called an "oxy-arm" it doesn't work as good as a nasal cannula, but for instance, instead of 2 L on a cannula, I use 5 L on my home concentrator, because it goes directly into my mouth. Like so many of you, I am seeing an ENT again, and have seen many ..... many Dr.'s, even from Mayo Clinic and none can give me a direct answer. I feel like I just exist not live because I'm a prisoner of my own nose!!!
