- Is vomiting all liquids common while taking morphine (1 answer)
I Recently started taking 6mg of Hydro-Morphine per day for pain. Every time i take the drug i vomit up any liquids I drink. i fell just fine without anything in my stomach but as soon as i eat or drink I instantly become nauseated and vomit everything. It is hard not to drink because the drug is making me very thirsty. So i try to drink and my body rejects it over and over again.. this goes on for hours (3-5)because i am sooo thirsty that I can not stop drinking.
- Can long-term methadone use cause or increase the risk of colon cancer?
I had a two-level spinal fusion at L4-S1 in 2000 after being injuried at work in Sept. 24, 1997. I lost everything after...the unjury, ability to do my job, my wife and family (couldn't take the strain) my home, my sense of self and purpose, direction and belonging...credit rating and ability to pay my bills.
After a long period of waiting to settle my workmens' comp. case, I returned home, from the Bat Area back to Arizona to take of my mother with a yet un dianosed case of moderate dementia.
Then, in 2011 I had a 2nd surgery to relieve spinal stenosis btwn. L2-L4, just above the fusion site.
I've been taking methadone since early 2004, a little over ten years, now. I've had high blood pressure since my injury.
Now, I waiting to be scheduled for a colonoscopy, with my father having had polyps and the way I've been feeling..drained, tired all the time, and stomach pains ( in addition to my chronic low back pain), I...
find myself wondering if there is any relationtionship between the methadone and other meds and cancer?

- Are you mental on methadone
My doctor changed my pain medication back in May of 2014 . I was pleased with how well it handle my back pain and was pleased with how inexpensive it was. My husband had been using the same drug with great results. It wasn't until about a month later I started to notice just feelings of sadness. I didn't think too much of it but then I would get such strong feelings of despair really bad that I would just cry. I also started getting a lot of panic attacks I had so much anxiety at times it prevented me from doing things. At one point I really thought I was having some sort of break down, but the feelings would have highs and lows and sometimes I would have a day with out them. Eventually after being on them for 7 months I went to my doctor and asked if it were possible I was experiencing these feelings from the Methadone. He wasn't sure but with it all happening right after I started taking them he decided to put me on something else. It's been about three weeks and even though the feelings are still there they are not as strong and seem to be passing. I hope as time goes I will feel like myself again and hope never to have to experience something like that again.

- Nuvigil & prilosec caused horrible experience
Both the pharmacy and doctor didn't have this interaction in their system after 4 ER trips I finally looked this interaction up. The problems didn't appear for 3 weeks after I started taking Nuvigil. So I didn't connect the two...it was a horrible experience.
- Methadone and forgetting basic things.
I have been in MMT (Methadone Maintenance Treatment) for around 7 1/2 years for chronic pain. I have gotten to where I forget things that I never would or did before and the longer in time the worse it has gotten I am currently looking at some different meds for treatment. The loss of memory is everything from childhood memories to what I did yesterday I may pay something and if I dont write it diwn I will forget it things I have known all my life I have forgotten. I can't say 100% it is from the MMT or not however I will sag I had no such problems before and I am at age 38 so I believe I am much too young to have severe memory loss that I am currently experiencing and whats scary is what if it never comes back and continues to decline?
- Sodium phosphate sensitivity - chlortrimaton helps
When I eat meat or any product with Sodium Phosphate in it, either in one large dose or cumulatively I get all of these symptoms. It gets worse if I eat it in consecutive meals and/or days. Taking Chlortrimaton eases the symptoms. The Doctor says this is not an allergy but is a sensitivity to Sodium Phosphate. There are other meat tenderizers and preservatives that have one or more of the symptoms listed but I have not been able to identify them.
