my 22 year old daughter suffered severe hearing loss after taking Avelox. She has a hearing benchmark test from 2011 and a new test in 2016 after we noticed a decline in her hearing showed drastic and rapid decrease in her left ear especially. We are wondering how many others have had this side effect?
I am suffering from RA since 1992, and is on methotrextrate 10 mg per week since 1995 till today August 27, 2016. Since last two to three years I was feeling heavy on both of my ears. I went to see ENT for couple of times and they informed the ears are clean and no vex. I did not take it seriously and then when I was on medicate insurance, I take chance to check my hearing sencitivity. I found that I was having hearing loss on one ear moderate and on other less than moderate. She made me the hearing aids and I am ashamed of wearing it in both ears. But I have hard time hearing people. I am having blood pressure other than RA, which makes me feel that over the 20 years of time, methotrextrate must have created this side effect. I don't know, still I have to get MRI done to conform it.
I started a low dose (10 mg) of methotrexate for rheumatoid arthritis last week and noticed this week, after taking my second does, that my face is breaking out. Does anyone have any similar experiences? I also take 5 mg of folic acid daily. Thanks for any help you can offer up.
