My psych doc and I are talking about starting Neurontin to combat my alcohol cravings. I was great on Wellbutrin for that, but my hair started falling out by the handfuls after 3 months. Have been off the Wellbutrin for a month and a half; hair still falling out and I'm drinking again. : ( Will Neurontin continue to make my hair fall out? Between my bipolar depression, impact on my self-esteem ( hair loss) and my panic over becoming alcohol-dependent I'm a real mess. Help!!!
I have been taking Neurontin for 18 years. I stared @ 200 mg for anxiety and was increased to 900mg for back pain after three surgeries. 7 years ago I noticed edema in my extremities mostly my fingers but as time went on and I past menopause I was suffering from diffused pain throughout my body. Testing positive for a plethora of autoimmune disorders, I have been suffering even more with peripheral edema. It has intensified and I have more pain in these areas. My rheumatologist believes it may be caused by gabapentin. I find it hard to wean myself from it without anxiety and depression. Has anyone experienced peripheral edema with this drug or Protonix? I take both drugs.

My wife is 72. She has a dormant case of MS and was removed from MS Drugs. One of her few symptons was an "electric" sensation in the left leg. Her prominent Chicago neurologist prescribed Neurontin. Dosage 300 mg twice a day. Not clear how much this has helped the sympton. Until recently ...
