At age 56 I began to have periodic partial paralysis. I was told by the Director of Neurology of Penn Medical Hospital that my paralysis was because of screwed up potassium metabolism. It happened after taking Oxcarbazepine. MRIs/EEGs showed no evidence or stroke. After I fell down and was paralyzed waist down at my nieces wedding I dropped Oxcarbazepine! I still have my paralysis episodes but only at night - but less frequent. So, the drop in potassium causing my paralysis was made worse and more often with Oxcarbazpine.
