  • I take klonopin and diltiazem (calcium channel blocker blood pressure medicine) and am concerned about side effects. my accupuncturist recommends the ashwagandha. anyone have any issues with this?
I take these prescription medications but have been going to an accupuncturist since 2012. I have trouble sleeping at night without my clonazepam and take naps during the day and am having trouble losing weight. She thinks that my adrenal glands may be fatigued and told me to try something called Adrenal Response which contains Sensoril Ashwagandha. When I looked up Ashwaganda it said that it could interact with the Clonazepam or Klonopin and also with High blood pressure medication. I am a little concerned. I mentioned this to her and she said they both are metabolized by the liver and it should be ok to take it, just to take it an hour or more after I take the Clonazepam. Has anyone had any issues with interactions with their prescribed meds while taking Ashwagandha? I don't want to have to monitor my blood pressure because my blood pressure medication works good for me. Any help would be appreciated because I want to try it but I am a little scared too. Thanks, Crystal
  • How many/what percentage of older males who have had a stroke, have another while taking uloric?
Concerned as my Rheumatologist wants me to start using Uloric40 mg and while I see that their is a relatively small incidence of stroke occurring (unless you are part of the "small" group); I have been unable to locate statistics for those previous stroke patients that are now using or have used Uloric, and had another stroke.

  • Death in doses of plavix (1 response)
My G.P.s have given me a death sentence by keeping me on Plavix for nearly five and a half years. I kept telling them of all my side effects like terrible fatigue, difficulty in walking a few yards, lack of breath, loss of hair and loss of vocabulary. I never associated this with the drug they'd given me after my T.I.A. I thought my under active thyroid might be the cause but was told that was fine. They wanted me to take antidepressants and I insisted I was NOT depressed. Finally they agreed to a scan and it was found that I had developed alveolitis. No ...they couldn't tell me how this had happened. I had no connection with any of the causes of this 'farmers lung' But now I know as I found for myself on the internet. Plavix which I stopped immediately and took small aspirin instead . I have been off the deadly drug Plavix for three months but am no better as the alveolitis has now taken over. Soon I will swallow all the antidepressents I have been given as I feel my life is virtually over .....I can't even use a feather duster without collapsing in a chair. I haven't been back to the surgery since I stopped taking this drug. I can't trust my G.P.s anymore.
  • Interactions of rantidine 150 mg & theophylline 200mg taken in am
I started taking 150mg rantidine with 200mg theophylline, and zyrtec in the morning before breakfast. Within 1 hour of taking my medications, even after eating, I found myself overwhelmed with anxiety, restlessness, the inability to think, and the feeling of dread.
I initially started taking rantidine in the evening, an hour before bed time, and found that it did not cause such a strong reaction. I really believe that these medications, when taken together, can really cause an adverse reaction for a person. I mean, it did me.
  • Folic acid withdrawal
I took folic acid 5 for more than 2 years after my past abortion, i continue it until 5 days before that i missed to buy it! Every day i feel worth until today that i ate it and after 2 hours i feel dramatically better!
  • Are you mental on methadone
My doctor changed my pain medication back in May of 2014 . I was pleased with how well it handle my back pain and was pleased with how inexpensive it was. My husband had been using the same drug with great results. It wasn't until about a month later I started to notice just feelings of sadness. I didn't think too much of it but then I would get such strong feelings of despair really bad that I would just cry. I also started getting a lot of panic attacks I had so much anxiety at times it prevented me from doing things. At one point I really thought I was having some sort of break down, but the feelings would have highs and lows and sometimes I would have a day with out them. Eventually after being on them for 7 months I went to my doctor and asked if it were possible I was experiencing these feelings from the Methadone. He wasn't sure but with it all happening right after I started taking them he decided to put me on something else. It's been about three weeks and even though the feelings are still there they are not as strong and seem to be passing. I hope as time goes I will feel like myself again and hope never to have to experience something like that again.
  • Bcaa's and increased anxiety/panic attacks
Six years ago I was hospitalized for severe panic disorder. After months of therapy I was prescribed Paxil and Zanax to control the disorder. I have been an athlete, mixed martial arts and weightlifting for over 20 years. Recently I decided to try BCAAs as a supplement to improve recovery after workouts. Bad idea! Bcaa's are reported to increase focus and can reduce serotonin. Sounds great, unless you have an anxiety disorder. Generally people with anxiety and/or panic disorders have a reduced amount or require more serotonin to maintain normal cognition "Perception".
While taking BCAA's I had three major panic attacks, pinging and shocking in meridian points (symptoms are known as discontinuation syndrome from reducing or stopping SSRN medications that treat anxiety). Long story short...stay away from this rather benign supplement if you have anxiety issues, especially if they are severe!

I was so lucky, one artery blocked 100% and one 80% found when I went for a pre operation physical to have my shoulder replaced. I have three stents, then this past July I had a mild stroke, now this week I have been told my heart is running slow, have to wait to go to cardiologist to find out what that means. I too am sleepy, low energy, do not want to do anything, everything is a chore, short of breath and so on.
