I am a 30 yr old woman, Homozygous A1298C for MTHFR, taking 1 mg Paxil, put on l-methylfolate by my doctor. It cause extreme acne, muscle twitching, severe mood swings, brain fog, etc. I had beautiful skin before, but after the methylfolate acne it is severely and deeply scarred and will never be the same again. We tried adding hydroxocobalamin and niacin to balance the methylfolate but it didnt work. It took two months for the severe breakouts to slow and even still I have deep breakouts, just not at the same extreme rate. Be cautious with B vitamins!
