I have reckless leg which quit responding due to augumention, ( was taking sinemet in large doses) Neurologist ( new doctor, 2 years of practice) changed me to 6mg og requip. The most given for restless leg is 4mg according to PDR. After about a year, on this gained 40lbs, lost hair, got insomia, Mutiple oter problems. Got ff completely of any meds for 3 weeks to clear receptors in brain, took codeine ( hyracodone caps from when had teeth fixed) doctors won't give codeine yet it is only thing that helps when off requp like meds. Docs should know that coeine only help for reckless leg if off requip- like meds...anyway took this off and on that 3 weeks because only had a small quanity, about went crazy with muscle spasms, jerking. New doc put back on requip... 2 mgday, ear pain now, insomia continues, jerking of leg, muscle spasms either right after taking the requip or awaking after two or 3 hours with them. The ear pain is like knives in ears. I wonder if meripex causes same problems? What has anyone found as a solution?
