  • Does humira cause excessive sweating?
Having psoriaticarthritis, fibromyalgia, psoriais, restless leg syndrome, roseacea and high blood pressure means complex health issues and a complex list of medication to go with it. Iam suffering extreme sweating, flushing and now a tickled cough. Now it could be due to going through the change (menopause) but that started a year ago and although I was getting the flushes and sweating,it was nothing like it is now! To me,it seems the excessive sweating started roughly a month after taking Humira. Having so many health issues I'm in tune with any changes and note and monitor them. I started Humira 10 months ago now. My Psoriasis has cleared completely so I'm really pleased. Usually, there's a trade off and you end up with something else! Could the issues I have be down to a single drug on the list,or a combination?
  • How do people taking risperidone lower their cholestrol side effect from this drug? what has your experience been while on this drug?
I have been on Risperidone for 1 year now. I started at 2 mg and I am now taking 1 mg. While on 1 mg my Triglycerides were at 218, very high and a side effect to this drug. I eat healthy and I am at a healthy weight. I know the high triglycerides are strictly from this drug. What is everyone's experience in this situation?
  • 2 nights i have taken mirtazapine & loratadine and i have had restless legs for 2 hours during the night. i also don't want to put on weight (1 answer)
I am on a trial taking 10 mg of MIRTAZAPINE for Insomnia, which I have suffered from for many years. I wake every 20-40 minutes all through the night when I do finally go off to sleep. I am also taking LORATADINE to try and help the thick saliva I get in my throat. I have to spit out saliva after drinking. I often feel like I have a lump in my throat of phlegm (but it isn't). My mouth also feel slimy at intervals during the day and night. I have changed my toothpaste to see if that helps. I have only taken these tablets for 2 nights and I already have had restless legs for 2 hours both nights.

  • Tramadol and severe rls and restless arms
After back surgery I was prescribed Tramadol for pain. After about a month I developed severe RLS and also restless arms that seemed to make it hard to breath. Like a weight on my chest. I noticed that after taking the Tramadol, only at night for sleep, the restless symptoms got worse for about an hour and then settled down some. Before long there was no settling down. My pain after several months being better in my back I, not liking to take medicine period, decided to stop the Tramadol. To my surprise my RLS came to almost a complete halt. After about a week it was gone completely.
  • Restless legs remedy
After 24 years of restless legs I discovered that the cause was my joints. I have taken glucosamine & chondroitin as well as shark cartilage for 8 weeks and my symptoms have virtually disappeared. I did not see any improvement until after 6 weeks so please stay with this if you decide to give it a try.
  • Long-term use of risperidone and antidepressants
I have been using Risperdal and antidepressants for 14 years for bipolar disorder. Last month I was diagnosed with adrenal insufficiency and progesterone deficiency. My cholesterol suddenly became high, I was tired all the time and more symptoms relating to my eventual diagnosis of adrenal insufficiency and progesterone deficiency. I must also say that at the same time of starting treatment I stopped using birth control pills. I feel there needs to be caution taken in all of these drugs. They seem to have a severe effect on hormone balance in the body.
  • Pristiq, epilim, sifrol, immovane, valium, mobic
I started out with mild burnout depression in 2009 and was put on a low dose of Lexapro, which picked me up fantastically. I had been given low (2mg) Valium before for muscle relaxant purposes due to my scoliosis complications. Both these worked well. Then in 2010 I was drugged and raped and almost suffocated by my flatmate. I plummeted after 3 days of numb shock, into the deep dark abyss of major depression, and became fearful about everything. I couldn't enter a shop if there was a queue of men in there for example. Finding myself with complete lack of motivation, neglecting housework, making mistakes constantly at work, I returned to the doctor. He doubled my Lexapro dose. I went back as instructed and was not feeling any better and could not cope with how I felt, so he sent to a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist added Epilim ie pramipexole hyrochloride (low dose) for mood balance, upped the Valium ie daizepam, to 5mg, and prescribed Immovane for my insomnia and terrifying nightmares. Time went on, and I built a tolerance to Lexapro, so he put me on Pristique 200 and Epilim 200. Then I had to have both those doubled (400 each) and I take them twice a day. I have had NO negative side effects at all, and they work excellently for me. As for the restless legs syndrome, that was diagnosed before I was on these medications. The Sifrol had to be increased too as I was told it had to have time to gradually build up in my system. It makes a great difference to my quality of sleep and how my legs feel the next day.
  • Flatulence, lactose intolerance, and clonazapam
After taking my first dose of Clonazapam, it seemed my lactose intolerance flared up for 24 hours or more. Flatulence all through the period and watery stool in the morning. Does anyone else find their lactose intolerance triggered by the lactose in Clonazapam?

  • Kevin Peters Ph.d on Mar, 4, 2013:

Sammy, I'm a white 45 male; just wanted to agree on that Klonopin remark. When I was 21 I had my second kidney transplant which was a BAD issue all together, at any rate the hospital did not include my medications taken at home after my surgery. I went thru the worst hallucinations and jerking and seizures you could ever possibly imagine. This went on for almost 3 1/2 weeks before we decided to have me taken OUT of the hospital and relocated before they ended up taking my life. Then the whole staff of paychology including the chief of psychiatry cane in my room to see what they could do, Finallu. During one of my few moments of clarity the C.O.F after blaming me if talking "drugs" prior to my transplant listened to my word of telling him the meds I was on before being admitted. After asking when was the last time I had received my Klonopin and me not knowing, he then reviewed the charts, and didn't see me receiving this med once. He stormed out of the room of about 9 docs and came back in with two Klonopin; for the first time in almost 4 weeks and after three surgeries the first 72 hours I was hospitalized, I was sleeping like a baby, for about 49 hours with NO MORE hallucinations, or seizures or jerking! I finally got out of there without a kidney since that kidney was supposed to go to another man named the same as I in a different city! I do take Xanax and probably always will. The half life on Klonopin is much different hence one if its dangers, Nevwr Ever stop this drug cold! I've been on dialysis 25 1/2 years now and suffered from intense skin cancers, but have fought and done all I can do to live a normal as possible life, working full time except when I'm in yet another surgery, over 32 general anesthetic procedures since 1987. I was the youngest boy-man to ever be on the USA soccer team ready to play in the Korea 1988 Olympics. What a change in life.....
    All the Best,
    K. Peters

i have been taking clonzepam and trazedone and my speech is a very hoarse voice, I am wondering if if my speech problem is from these drugs's side effects.

Upon occasion, I, too, have become hoarse and from the use of Klonopin. I was VERY hoarse when I tried to cold turkey off of 4mgs of Klonopin. I am now down to 1.5mgs per day and, still, (as I said, upon occasion, I become hoarse. I am sure that the use of Klonopin is the causative factor. - TwoDimes -
