From this study (1 week ago):
My stomach has been swollen for over 10 years, also constant dry mouth, very thirsty causing fluid overload. This lead to dangerously low sodium. Causing fatigue, weekness, and countless visits to E.R. from halusinations, to passing out on the way to the bathroom, with blood pressure of 36 over 24. I tapered down to .5 mg two times per day, from 1 mg 2x day. This was very difficult and took over two years. Sodium was finally normal. Concerned over health cut down over time to .25mg two times a day, then stopped taking it for over six weeks. Even at .25mg 2X day my stomach was still swollen. Upon stopping, my stomach no longer was flat and I could wear contacts again since my eyes were no longer so dry. I had to go back on it, due to extreme increase in anxiety and agitation. I made it for six weeks. After one .5 mg dose my stomach started to swell or bloat, I was retaining fluids again, after five days a single .25 mg or .5 mg dose causes extreme bloating, and severe pain in my lower abdomen around the left and right sides of my bladder near the groin. The fluid retention is very severe I will gain up to five lb after a single dose from fluids before falling asleep, also causes dry mouth, eyes, and skin. When I wake up the weight is lost. It is very painful every time I take a dose. Note since I went from .25 mg twice a day to stopping, in two weeks I lost 15 pounds, after six weeks I have lost 24 lb, even a week after resuming. I did not want to lose the last 10 lb, now very week physically.
I do not beleve atypical antipsycotics should ever be used for anxiety, depression, or sleep. Doctors do prescribe seriquil for sleek since it has a low potential for abuse. I do not think that Doctors completely understand the risk of using these medications that block dopamine receptors, since more are created over time, changing brain and body chemestry! Aaron Hart.
