I've been taking Victoza for about 6 months. Have lost weight (>10 lbs.), but have very impaired taste and smell. I think this side-effect should be addressed, especially because it could very well be what leads people to believe they are losing weight as a result of the drug.

i have been taking victoza since nov 2012 and have lost 43 lbs which is good i feel better all the water i retained i lost. im on 1.08 the only problem is things tast salty. i eat a lot of hard candies sugar free. sometimes i can eat so much and then i have to stop, because of the bad taste. has anyone figured out a way to get rid of the salty and nasty taste. iam a female 71 years old

A month after my last post, my loss of smell and taste has evolved into a very bad taste in my mouth as well as bad smell. It is very nauseating, so I have stopped the victoza as it has become intolerable.
