I'm 4 months pregnant and have tested positive for amphetamines while on Methyldopa. I can't find any literature anywhere to prove this to my OB/GYN and to the lab. I continue to find that people on this medication have also tested positive for amphetamines however I can not find a reliable source to confirm it. My OB/GYN will not order GC/MS confirmation test, I also requested a serum or hair follicle test and was told "we don't order those".

Hi my name is Sommer Rawlins I am 24 and live in South Webster Ohio I was reading the comments above and was horrified by what you mothers are going through. I to was on Methyldopa durong my pregnacy. After giving birth to my son i was imformed i too tested positive for Ampheramines but thank the lord the social worker did her homework and knew it was a false positive ....but why doesnt doctors and nurses know this why hasnt the FDA done any research!! This is extremely horrifying that mothers are losing their kids over blood pressure medication they were prescribed while pregnant I wish I could Help this is a disgrace I had to comment and say that I also had it happen to me taking Methyldopa ....FDA needs to educate themselves and it needs to be listed as a side affect!!! This cant keep happening to innocent mothers that just did as they were advised to do and prescribed to take!!!
