- I take klonopin and diltiazem (calcium channel blocker blood pressure medicine) and am concerned about side effects. my accupuncturist recommends the ashwagandha. anyone have any issues with this?
I take these prescription medications but have been going to an accupuncturist since 2012. I have trouble sleeping at night without my clonazepam and take naps during the day and am having trouble losing weight. She thinks that my adrenal glands may be fatigued and told me to try something called Adrenal Response which contains Sensoril Ashwagandha. When I looked up Ashwaganda it said that it could interact with the Clonazepam or Klonopin and also with High blood pressure medication. I am a little concerned. I mentioned this to her and she said they both are metabolized by the liver and it should be ok to take it, just to take it an hour or more after I take the Clonazepam. Has anyone had any issues with interactions with their prescribed meds while taking Ashwagandha? I don't want to have to monitor my blood pressure because my blood pressure medication works good for me. Any help would be appreciated because I want to try it but I am a little scared too. Thanks, Crystal

- High potassium blood levels caused by vitamin d3
I have Parkinson's and fell and broke my hip. Otherwise I have good health. While checking my blood, the doctor was extremely concerned that my potassium levels were above 5.0 and wanted to take rather drastic measures to correct it. Since I have no other symptoms, I was resistant. In the meantime, I thought I saw a study that said vitamin D supplementation could cause a false positive reading on potassium. I was taking 5000 units of D a day for over a year. I stopped taking it while I was in the hospital and the blood level potassium began to normalize.
I need the vitamin D and need to find out if it is truly detrimental or an illusion .
- Ampyra vs kidney stones
Started taking Ampyra Sept 1, 2014.
Had a severe kidney stone in mid-September.
Another two weeks ago.
No family history or them. I also have no history of them.
Drink fresh squeezed lemon daily and lots of water.
Take Ibuprofen when it starts up.
Ampyra is helping with leg strength a tiny bit.
My MS is 40 years old so it is acting like it is old!
- Blood sugar level while taking veltrex
I been taking Veltrex for a viral infection in my eye for 3 days and today my blood sugar was 448.My normal blood sugar runs around 146.
- Irregular heatbeat and prilosec
I am 65 M and a long history of Moderate hypertension. I am overweight, out of shape. 15-20 years ago when I didn't take BP medicine I had occasional PVCs, heart skips a beat.
Since I have been on Metoprolol (beta blocker) and Cozaar my BP is normal and heartbeat normal.
I have been on that regimen 15-20 years.
Now or in the last weeks or 2 I notice skipped beats and irregular, fast to slow and back on occasion
Recently It was suggested I may have sleep apnea and was definitely diagnosed with bad acid reflux by an Ear nose and throat specialist.
I was told to go on 2 OTC Prevacid/day for 3 months. I instead, since I had them, went on Prilosec-- slightly different.
I have been on Prilosec 2 or so weeks maybe 3.
It clicked in my mind today that maybe there is a connection.
I have a pretty expensive pulse oximeter (electronic finger thingy) and I can actually see flat lines and skipped beats and strength of pulse. Oxygen is 90 to 94. Also I started taking aspirin out of fear
- Palpitations when eating raw garlic
After symptoms of a cold, I've been drinking the famous "garlic honey lemon" mixture to try to get rid of the cold and it actually worked pretty well.
The first morning it didn't feel very nice to drink but I was ok.
From day 2, I started to feel heartburn and heart palpitations, with a sort of headache as soon as I drank the mixture. Symptoms then disappear within a couple of minutes and I was fine for the rest of the day.
This has been getting worse every morning, until this morning (day 5) where I had to kneel down and focus on breathing.
I can't drink it anymore, my chest hurts and it gets quite scary.
I usually don't eat a lot of garlic anyway, I don't really like it. I'm assuming it's the garlic creating the reaction, as lemon and honey are part of my daily diet.
