  • Sick for over six weeks now with severe diarrhea and nausea on eating. Ordinary stool cultures negative. Special stool cultures (cryptosporidia, cyclospora, isosspora) all negative. Colonoscopy/endoscopy negative, including for microscopic colitis. Have not found any food tolerable. The more eaten, the worse the bouts (both severity and number). Any/all foods have same effect. BRATS diet did not work. Generous doses of Immodium + prescribed bowel relaxer mildly effective but result in greatly increased nausea. Doctors have no clue what is wrong.

  • I was in a MVA 2 1/2 years ago, I was an RN and was left unable to work. 3 months after the MVA I underwent a Hysterectomy found 4th grade Endometriosis with Adhesions. Only able to remove uterus, cervix is stuck to bowel unable to remove both ovaries retained. Underwent 2 rounds of 6 months each of Depro Lupron injections endometriosis symptoms subsided for 6-8 months and has since returned being cyclic for 12-15 days a month. During the time between the mva and hysterectomy 2 week period of stiffness, unable to move easily sent to rhuematologist found to recently had Parvo Recovered from that. Over time Rheumatologist diagnosed with connective tissue disorder started on Plaquenil and Prednisone. Diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Sent to pain management diagnosed with pelvic floor tension myalgia, vuvlodynia, vaginal spasms, low testosterone and intersticial cystitis. Sent to sexual medicine doctor, found muscle damage from hysterectomy did trigger point injections and physical therapy deep tissue massage. Then I tore ACL and Medial Meniscus, unable to continue with pelvic pain doctor because gait was messing up what they were fixing. routine blood test found K+ to be 2.5 started on supplements of 40 meq a day of K+. Total body swelling started overnight started on Lasix, no improvement changed to Bumex edema decreased, potassium increased to 60 meq a day. I have been on pain medication since the MVA I have gone from Vicodin, valium to Percocet oxicontin, to MS Contin, Methadone, Butrans Patch and Now I am on Exalgo 12 mg once a day with 2 mg of dilaudid at bedtime. This does not seem to be working. I have constant abdominal/pelvic pain, vaginal spasms, bladder pain, kidney pain after the Bumex has worn off. I have developed Peripheral Neuropathy of my feet from taking crestor and hydroxychloroquine together, then they changed me to Lipitor, which is a statin and will do the same, Primary MD disagrees. I have suffered from Depression, anxiety, Panic attacks and migraines for over 10 years these are inherited conditions in Maternal Grandmother and Mother, migraines in Father also. They are now looking at Sjogrens Syndrome. Was on Vitamin B6 new medical journals say women should not take more than 10-50 mg a day-otc bottles say 100mg so pain management said I am suffering from vitamin B3 overdose and serotonin syndrome, trying to cut back on anti depressives and anti anxiety meds, but now is not really the time to do, I have been turned down for disability X2

  • I use medical mj to treat ongoing effects of exercise including walking golf courses, climbing 4000 steps a week, climbing hills. Symptoms restricted to being awakened by a strong shock like action, usually in the head but sometimes in the body. Shock like effect sometimes like being hit with a bat. I doubled my intake of Benicar recently, effects increased markedly. I doubt I'm the only one with these symptoms, especially with the potentially increased use of mj in the US.

  • I have had bypass surgery twice. Triple in 1984, quadruple in 2009. After the 2009 bypass, I developed atrial fibrillation, low pulse rate and diabetes. On Jan 4th, I saw my doctor for flu symptoms. He prescribed a Z-Pack which I took from Jan 5 - 9, 2013. On Feb 19, 2013 I collapsed in a grocery store from a condition called by my cardiologist as Sudden Cardiac Death. When the event happened, I went out cold with no warning and no recollection. I happened to be 10 ft. from a veteran CPR instructor and the store I was in was less than 2 miles from the hospital. EMS used their defibrillator 5 times to get my heart pumping again. Last week I saw on the news that the FDA had issued a warning to physicians regarding prescribing Z-Packs to patients with Atrial Fibrillation, Slow Pulse and diabetes. I have all three. I looked it up on the internet and was astonished to see the many warnings from the NEJM, AMA, FDA and others. This was the first Z-Pack I had ever taken and the Sudden Cardiac Death took place within 5 weeks of taking it. I want to know if the two are related.

  • I've had pemphigoid disease (cicatricial, bullous, and mucous membrane) for nearly one year. It is currently pretty well controlled by 10mg/day of Prednisone and 100mg/day of Dapsone. I would like to see fewer side effects (tremors and sleep disturbance) as well as a complete remission of the blisters.

  • my mother has been taking the above drugs for more than a year. all of a sudden she has begun having hallucinations during the over night. she is not afraid when this happens, she sees people in her bedroom-and she knows she isn't dreaming. The people have been her children and grandchildren. The fact that this is happening has her very unnerved. My mother was diagnosed with Mild Dementia in August of this year. she is unaware of this diagnosis, because we know it will devestate her. her sister died 3 years ago from complications from dementia. I was wondering if these hallucinations could be due to the medications she is taking. i do know it is more likely the progression of the dementia.

My grandfather had simialar visitor the last few years of his life. I read somewhere that it is a typical occurance with older persons with macular degeneration. With the loss of vision the brain 'invents' interactions with people that are well known to your past.It was a comfort to me to know it was not dementia, and it was a comfort for my GP to see his late wife beckoning him to heaven. Best of luck to you and your mother.
