Can you answer these questions (Ask a question):

  • Why would i get copd since i never smoked?
I have several autoimmune disorders, I was shocked to get the COPD diagnosis since I have never smoked but I had second hand smoke first 23 years of my life.
My doctor said my Autoimmune Hepatitis and Primary Biliary Cholingitis set me up for COPD.
  • Does/can inulin (chicory root extract) interact with lithium?
I am taking all these antibiotics for 14 days to get rid of the H Pylori bacteria in my stomach. I want to replace the good bacteria lost and avoid diahhrea by taking a probiotic daily. However, I have noticed the use of inulin (chicory root extract) in the probiotic. I need to know if I can take the probiotic -- (includes chicory root) with my daily medication -- namely lithium or will there be a drug interaction between them or increase/decrease of my lithium blood level? Thank you!
  • I am prescribed amlodopine for high blood pressure, 10mg daily. is it okay to combine garcinia cambogia for weight loss? (1 answer)
I have a prescription of Amlodipine 10mg tabs for high blood pressure. I would like to begin taking Garcinia Cambogia and would like to hear if anyone has had any adverse reaction to this combination or positive results, as well.
  • Has anyone been prescribed methotrexate for granuloma annulare?
I have had GA for 2 years now, however it has gotten progressively worse the past 6 months. It has now spread over 80% of my body. I am seeing an Endocrinologist next week as I believe my thyroid may play a big role in this. My Regular Dr. suggested I speak to Endocrinologist about a drug called Methotrexate. Has anyone taken this for GA, and if so, can you please tell me if it is working, side effects etc?
I am desperate for some relief!
    Thanks
  • Has anyone seen an immuniologist for granuloma annulare, if so what was the outcome?

  • Garcinia and high blood pressure
I am taking a weight loss pill last couple of days. Last two days after I ate cheese, I had headache and high blood pressure, nausea. Yesterday whole day I had stomach upset, pain, nausea. I am not going to take ot anymore.
  • Belviq (lorcaserin) and adderall (amphetamine and dextroamphetamine)
I have been on Adderall for more than a year and I have recently started taking Belviq. For some reason a lot of doctors worry about a serious interaction between the two, in my experience the two get along just fine. Adderall helps me stay focused, while Belviq suppresses appetite.
During the second week of Belviq I did have very small stomach upsets, such as heartburn but it did go away about 2 days later. Other than that the medication works well and I think it is safe for anyone to try who is looking to lose weight. Belviq works on serotonin and while the exact mechanism is unknown it causes appetite suppression in most people. Belviq being one of the medications that are approved for long term use, it may be very helpful to individuals who require a longer period of time on the medication. Belviq reminds me of an antidepressant I was on called Effexor, the two produce the same sense of satisfaction overall, but mostly with food. However Effexor’s side effects (show up around week 7-12) and made it so that the medication is almost impossible to used. Belviq at this time is not giving me any side effects, I think it’s a wonderful drug, much better than the other options like Contrive and Qsyimia. However it’s not for everyone the drug may work perfectly on 80 % of the people who try it but on others it may not. I recommend that the alternatives be considered such as Contrive or Qsymia if Belviq is not found helpful. If Belviq causes you to feel unwell, sad, depressed, or feel like you have the flu—stop taking Belviq and call your doctor as these may be signs of a life threatening condition. Always take the medication as directed by your doctor, do not adjust your own dose without consulting with the doctor.
Belviq has been a wonderful addition to my life, it’s helped me take control of my body again I feel that the medication is very good, well tolerated, and just an amazingly well designed drug overall.
  • Cardio version caused fingernail abnormalities
Right hip fracture. When prepping for surgery AFIB was found. Surgery was cancelled and they attempted to get AFIB under control. Finally, cardioversion was performed. When my nails started to grow out they all had two horizontal lines that cause the nail to break when it grows out to that point.
  • Bloody semen after taking amlodipine besylate
Was started on Amlodipine Besylate 11-13-14. Now -not quite three weeks later- I have bloody semen (Hematospermia)ranging from light pink to dark red. It was fine, and normal before. I feel it is the medication causing this.
