If there is a linkage between Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus ("NPH") and Narcolepsy ("NPY") has there been any studies or even speculation as to the relationship between the two conditions? Same question as between NPH& sleep apnea? Last question---for now: Anyone with experience of NPH apparently successfully treated with a shunt and then two recurrences of return of the NPH followed by adjustment of the valve on the shunt. The valve is now "wide open" and the NPH is returning. My neurosurgeon does not have any other arrows in his quiver. Any suggestion as to future treatment(s)? Thank you. I have been taking a combination of medications for several disorders tha I suffer from. I am concerned because I have a friend with tardive dyskinesia which she believes she got from taking Xanax, and my great grandmother had it also, but I have no idea the medications she was on at that time. My boyfriend stopped taking Seroquel because of the correlation between it and TD. I know there seems to be a link with other medications besides Seroquel and Xanax, so I am trying to be sure I do not start taking anything else that may have a strong possibility for causing this condition. Thank you very much for any information you may be able to share with me.
ER two mornings in a row on vacation. Now I'm scared to drive or even be alone. Basically what has happened is i've lost consciousness and can't be aroused. These are not quick faints; I'm out for 30-40 minutes I've had such episodes every two years or so for about twenty years but now they're happening more frequently and they scare everyone around me. Anyone else have similar episodes? What have you learned? Do you drive? Thank you!

I'm 20 and have had narcolepsy since I was 14. I've been on Xyrem for about 4 years. For the last year, I've been dealing with Raynaud's. Does anyone else have problems with taking Xyrem and now have Raynaud's?
Recently arrested at Target and am TERRIFIED! The manager says that he has video of me walking out with unpaid merchandise on other occasions. A few months ago I posted on Facebook that I recently found a bunch of items in the trunk of my car that were unpaid for from Target. I have no recollection of buying them so I returned them to the store. I assumed this was due to automatic behavior. Due to the amount of stuff that the manager says that I have taken in the past, I'm terrified that I'm looking at serious jail time! Any advice or suggestions? I'm 52 years old and have never been in trouble with the law before.
Hello, I am researching treatments for my daughter who has just been diagnosed with Narcolepsy with cataplexy. I came across this group and would be very interested in hearing about your experiences with L-Citrulline or anything else that you have found to be helpful. Thanks.
I have good insurance but lousy doctors. I was diagnosed with narcolepsy a few years ago. I havent always had it because I had many sleep studies prior. I am not allowed to take the only med they have, my doctor said..because of my arrhythmia...which coincidentally is metroprolo. I see there are no posts here so I may never get any responses but I would like to hear from others who may have advice or are just dealing with the same.
Hello, I am titrating up on Xyrem (currently 3.0x2). After I take each dose, I feel like my mind is activated and kind of revved up, making it hard to get any sleep. I also suspect histamine tolerance (reaction to certain foods) and have been fighting a bronchial/sinus infection since I first started taking Xyrem (my daughter got sick around then, so it is probably just timing). Looking for any info to help me combat the mind activation and get some good quality sleep. Thanks, and happy to be here! Vanessa
