My father is 82 and had recent resistant pneumonia which he was given Lasix. He now sweats below the level of his paralysis. Is one related to the other? he has not had sweating below his level of paralysis in 49 years. Should I be looking at another drug causing this side effect. He now is on blood pressure medication which the rehab Dr. told him not to take in the past. I often wonder about the experience of physicians caring for quadraplegic patients and autonomic dysreflexia. Is this condition factored into what drugs to take? does anyone have any experience with caring for a 40 year quadreplegic condition. At 82 yrs old we have multiple conditions to care for.
I'm a Brazilian dermatologist. I used dapsone to treat dermatitis herpetiformis in my mother. After 30 days of use of 100 mg per day of the drug she presented loss of muscular strength and paralysis of legs and arms. I do not know how to try to reverse this symptom. Is there a drug that reverses this effect? Please, thank you for any kind of help.
