Cogentin and Avapro drug interactions - a phase IV clinical study of FDA data
Summary:
Drug interactions are reported among people who take Cogentin (benztropine mesylate) and Avapro (irbesartan). Common drug interactions include anxiety among females and alanine aminotransferase increased among males.
The phase IV clinical study analyzes what interactions people have when they take Cogentin and Avapro. It is created by eHealthMe based on reports of 12 people who take the same drugs from the FDA, and is updated regularly.
What is Cogentin?
Cogentin has active ingredients of benztropine mesylate. It is often used in tardive dyskinesia. eHealthMe is studying from 7,692 Cogentin users. Check the latest studies of Cogentin.
What is Avapro?
Avapro has active ingredients of irbesartan. It is often used in high blood pressure. eHealthMe is studying from 19,840 Avapro users. Check the latest studies of Avapro.
12 people who take Cogentin and Avapro together, and have interactions are studied.

The study uses data from the FDA. It is based on benztropine mesylate and irbesartan (the active ingredients of Cogentin and Avapro, respectively), and Cogentin and Avapro (the brand names). Other drugs that have the same active ingredients (e.g. generic drugs) are not considered. Dosage of drugs is not considered in the study.
How to use the study?
DO NOT STOP MEDICATIONS without first consulting your doctor. If there are any serious or long term adverse effects discovered in the study, discuss the study with your doctor to ensure that proper medication management will be in place if applicable.
